Breckenridge Events Around Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the true family holiday that brings loved ones together for quality time and even higher quality food! Breckenridge is a wonderful destination for a Thanksgiving vacation with world class skiing and excellent dining, lodging and activities. In an area with so much to do, it may be hard to decide what activities and events you should attend. The Winter Family Carnival takes place on November 30th from 3pm to 6pm at Warren Station in Keystone’s River Run Village. The carnival is organized to help us welcome the winter season! Come over to Keystone to warm up and let the kids enjoy all of the carnival activities available. Face painting, balloon art, bounce house, crafts, and indoor games are just a few of the exciting features of the Winter Family Carnival. The event is free for all so come down and celebrate winter!

For a different type of experience, come down to Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge for the Hartford Ski Spectacular at Breckenridge Ski Area. This is the nation’s largest winter sports festival for people with disabilities and takes place December 3rd to December 7th.

For those looking to run off those Thanksgiving day calories, come participate in the inaugural Turkey Day 5k in Frisco! Start a new family tradition with this great event taking place on the Summit County Recreation paths and Frisco side streets. The race is open to all ages and participants are encouraged to make non-perishable food donations which will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day and starts at 9:30am.

Need some musical theatre this holiday? Come join us for Oliver! At the Backstage Theater in Breckenridge. Oliver! Is a unique classic musical that is a great experience for the whole family. The show is running from Nov. 29- to Dec. 28 and admission is $20-$25.                                                                                                                                                               turkey

For your history fix, take a historic walking tour through Breckenridge with a local expert! Learn all about historic businesses and view several of the earliest historic buildings in town that were erected over a hundred years ago! Breckenridge is also full of gold mining history. The tour takes place on November 30th at 11am and admission is about $5 to $10 per person.
