4 Awesome Winter Activities besides Skiing

When the snow first starts falling from the sky the beginning of ski season is underway. Skiers and snowboarders are filled with joy. However, they are not the only winter enthusiasts who are excited about the winter. The Colorado bluebird skies, powder filled mountains and valleys get outdoor enthusiasts excited in all capacities. If skiing and snowboarding isn’t your thing, never fret, there is still tons of fun activities to do! Check out these 4 awesome winter activities besides skiing from Breckenridge Whitewater.
- Ice Skating: Many of the mountain resorts have not just one, but two ice skating rinks throughout their towns. Many of these ice skating rinks offer hot chocolate and cookies around 3 p.m. There are options to skate during the day and under the stars at night!
- Sleigh Rides: What could be better than being pulled in an open sleigh drawn by horses? What about if you top it off by going to dinner after? Many of the ski resorts have stables which offer regular sleigh rides and dinner sleigh rides.
- Snow Tubing: The ski resorts throughout Summit and Eagle County often have Adventure Centers which feature snow tubing! Both lifts and tow ropes pull you and your tube up so you have more time for runs. Additionally, you don’t just get your pick of one run, but several tracks providing excitement of all levels!
- Snowmobiling: In recent years snowmobiling has not only taken off as a sport, but also a recreational activity as well! Providing access to astonishing views and some of the freshest untouched snow snowmobiling is a must do for this winter season!
Even if you’re not a skier or snowboarder and want to vacation in the mountains, don’t get stuck inside during your vacation.
