St. Patrick’s Day in Breckenridge

Reach in your closet, take not of how much green you really have and Suit Up! It’s that time of year again, which is celebrated all over the world for no other reason than, well, you know…..Having fun and taking in some adult beverages, so “Erin Go Bragh”, grab a green beer or a Guinness and I’ll see ya there. Here’s what not to miss in the Kingdom of Breckenridge.

Irish Bar…..CHECK

Yes, if you even have an once of Irish in you or if your friend is Irish, then you must frequent the local Irish Pub. As for Breck, check out the locals’ favorite Burke & Riley’s. They open bright and early on St. Patrick’s Day with a live band plus bagpipers, drummers and dancers throughout the day. Powder day or sunscreen day, you don’t have to worry about freezing fingers and toes under Burke’s heated tent on the festive deck.

On Mountain Shananigans

The T-Bar on Peak 8 will have a special St. Paddy’s DJ spinning tunage all day on the patio to go along with a costume contest. Ski on over to the Coppertop on Peak 9, where all day there will be drink specials and please don’t break tradition and drink a green beer for the love of the Leprechaun! Fuel up with some specials then head to Spencer’s at Beaver Run and try an Irish themed lunch buffet. Follow the rainbow to Breckenridge and see how much luck this St. Paddy’s Day can bring.

Frisco Fun

Don’t just relegate yourself to the town of Breck. After a safe free bus ride courtesy of the Breck Free Ride program, head to our fun and quieter neighbor down the road in the great town of Frisco. Head to a German favorite called Prost. What?!! You say a “German bar”, well yep, the Irish friends are a great addition to your day. With a keg of McChouffe, a locals’ favorite, and Jameson specials all day, enjoy the views and camaraderie. Don’t forget to try the luscious Rueben, at half price no less!

In all, let’s be serious; if you can’t have fun on this day, stay home! Breckenridge and Summit County is a great place to be everyday, but on this green day there is so much more fun to have. Again, there is no shame so get your green on, and we will see ya and paint the town green together! Have an Irie Day!
