Here’s a run down of some of the peaks, trails, and places to grab some good grub while skiing the slopes of Breckenridge.

Peak Six

The one trail that is now open on Peak 6 is the groomed Lost Horizon.  With not much snow in the forecast, it’s hard to predict when any of the other 20 runs will be ready to go.

Peak Seven

With the peak just recently opening, these family friendly slopes now have 8 runs ready for you to shred down.  5 of those runs are freshly groomed every morning, creating that beautiful corduroy many skiers seek out.  If you need a spot to warm up, head to to top of the Independence SuperChair to Pioneer Crossing.  High quality food and incredible view of Summit County await you!

Peak Eight

Peak Eight has 26 of it’s 33 trails now open, with plenty of good snow and 14 groomed runs.  This is most popular peak, and the one that the gondola takes you to from town.  Stop at the TBar for one of their brisket Bloody Mary’s, or head to Robbie’s and sit along one of the fire pits outside for prime skier viewing pleasure.

Back Bowls

On the side of Peak 8 sits the lovely 6 Chair and a handful of black diamond runs known as the Back Bowls.  Almost all of these trails are now open and ready to adventure!

Peak Nine

Peak Nine has 23 of it’s 36 trails open and is a great way to escape the crowds of Peak 8.  The Overlook Restaurant sits on Peak 9 with an incredible Gold King Ramen dish served with pork or bison, noodles and veggies.  They also serve Colorado-raised local products, including an elk brat and a bison short rib sandwich.

What better way to ring in the New Year than skiing in the beautiful Summit County, Colorado?  Enjoy this bluebird week on the slopes, and think about starting to plan your summer activities in the high country.  We’re currently offering some great deals on whitewater rafting excursions!  Call Breckenridge Whitewater Rafting to book your adventure today.
