Not ready to tackle a 14er? From our Granite Outpost, you can access The Colorado Trail using a moderate path that takes you by abandoned miners’ cabins. The length of the hike is up to you. We’re located in the heart of the highest peaks in Colorado. The Sawatch Range has the most “fourteeners” (14,000-foot peaks) in a row in Colorado with fifteen in its range. It also boasts four of the five highest peaks in Colorado. The Sawatch Range’s 14,000-foot peaks offer hikers amazing alpine challenges in the Rocky Mountains. Climbing a fourteener has become popular and the challenge of climbing a fourteener will capture you. Standing on top of a 14,000-foot mountain, looking as far as the eye can see is an accomplishment never to be forgotten. An adventure is waiting for you in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains!
