Labor Day is one of the best holidays of the year. One last excuse to go and enjoy a three day weekend and take advantage of the warm weather before the chill of fall arrives. Labor Day in Breckenridge is particularly pleasant. The beautiful scenery paired with the mass amounts of deals available at restaurants and hotels, this weekend is one of the best times to visit Summit County. Furthermore, the activities are endless so you are guaranteed to have a great time no matter what your interests are.
Shoppers and gear-heads alike will enjoy the sidewalk sales. Labor Day weekend brings back the famous sidewalk sale where the local shops display their best products. While it is free to browse, you can get some really good deals on clothes and gear for the upcoming winter season or stock up on summer gear for next season.
Art enthusiasts rejoice, for the Great Divide Art Festival is back again for the 37th year. Come see art from over 100 artists in almost every medium that there is. This is a great opportunity to meet with exhibiting artists from around the state and around the country.
Labor Day is also the last weekend available to take advantage of our world class rafting in Kremmling and Granite. Full day trips, half day trips and packages for rafting and ziplining will be running through Monday, September 2nd.
Finally, the highlight of Labor Day in Breckenridge is the annual Great Rubber Duck Race. The race actually consists of three races, the Kid’s Duck Dash, the Business Battle Race, and the Great Rubber Duck Race. There will be thousands of dollars in prizes given out including a week long vacation to one lucky recipient. Don’t worry if you do not have the fastest duck in the race, there is a prize for the slowest duck too!
Make sure to bring your sunglasses along with a light rain jacket because you never know about those late afternoon thunderstorms!
