4th of July in Breck

If you’ve found yourself vacationing in the beautiful town of Breckenridge on the 4th of July weekend, you’re in for a real treat. Breckenridge has a variety of Independence Day activities for children and adults of all ages and interests. Whether you’re looking for food, music, fireworks, or parades, the town has something in store for both you and your family.

breck fireworks Start the day off by watching (or participating in) the Independence Day 10K Trail Run or The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race. The bike race kicks off the start of the 4th of July Parade on Main Street and is a Breckenridge tradition, always bringing in thousands of spectators. Settle in for the rest of the parade which includes the Red, White, and Blue Color Guard, floats from local businesses, and marching bands from across the state. Get in the patriotic spirit with a reading of the Declaration of Independence to follow.

Following the parade, kids can participate in the Red, White, and Blue Fire Department old time water fight on Main Street while parents check out the Street Art Festival at the Breckenridge Art Campus District, or the Viper Show and Shine car show on Main Street. Meet up again for a free concert at the Riverwalk Center. Grab a bite to eat at one of Breckenridge’s family friendly restaurants. Unwind for the night with a performance by thebreck george washington National Repertory Orchestra.  Breckenridge’s professional fireworks display will begin shortly from the Gondola Lot, visible from all over town.

When the 4th has concluded, spend the rest of your weekend touring historic Breckenridge or plan a nearby adventure.
