Snow has already begun to fall, and with some Colorado ski resorts already opening, the others, including Breckenridge, are preparing for the big day. Breckenridge will officially start up the chair lifts for the 2015-2016 season on Friday, November 13th, which means you have less than 2 weeks to to prepare. Here are 5 last minute tips for opening day to insure you are ready for everything.
Prepare for a Crowd
Breckenridge locals have been counting day to this exact day since closing day of the 2014-2015 season. Expect to see long lift lines and crowded runs, not only because of the amount of people, but also because of the limited terrain.
Check the Terrain Report
Speaking of terrain, you may want to brush up on which runs and chairlifts are open. If you are hoping to make it up Imperial Chair, you may be disappointed. Sneak a peak at Breckenridge Terrain Status information before heading out.
Pack Your Lunch
Chances are the lunch line may be a bit long as well, so don’t waste any time waiting around. Packing your lunch will also save some serious cash that you can use for Apres!
Buy Your Pass Ahead of Time
The Breckenridge ticket offices are closed until the start of the season, but you can still purchase your pass online. We recommend buying your pass early so you can head straight for the lifts!
Start Early, End Early
Head to the mountain in time for first chair, and call it a day early to take advantage of some of Breck’s amazing Apres deals! Chances are the lifts will be busy, the runs will be crowded and the conditions won’t be at their peak until we have a nice base. Get a few runs in then celebrate the start of the season with a happy hour margarita from Mi Casa or two-for-one martinis at Blue River Bistro.
