Spending time above 9,000 feet, everyone works up an appetite. The choices of where to eat in Breckenridge can be a bit overwhelming and prices can definitely vary from very cheap to very expensive. We all know about those $20 burgers offered at the resort. For those of you looking to not break the bank, here is a list of some of the best spots for a cheap mountain lunch.
1. Soupz On – This place is simple but amazing and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. If you’re someone who struggles with choosing what they want to get, the menu is not very large. Everything is delicious and you are allowed to sample as many of the soups as you want before making a decision. They also offer plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The menu changes day to day and they offer bread, sandwiches and salads as well to go with your soup. On those chillier mountain days this is a great choice!
2. Duggan’s Deli – Yet another small spot but with plenty of character, the deli offers amazing sandwiches and has a HUGE selection. It has that hole-in-the-wall vibe, but in the best way possible. If you are looking for a cheap and filling option, this is the place to go. Try the hot pastrami, you won’t be disappointed.
3. Empire Burger – After finishing that hike, few things hit the spot better than a burger and a beer. This spot offers that and much more. The amount of burger options is very large and they have plenty of beers on tap to find the perfect pairing. For being a burger joint they also offer plenty of vegetarian options.
4. Northside Pizza – Definitely a locals hang out, but everyone is always made to feel very welcome! Great wings, great pizza and great atmosphere. Perfect for picky kids too as all of their pizzas are delicious. If you are someone who is hoping to catch the football game and chow down on some pizza, they have plenty of large screen TV’s and good drinks to sit back and relax.
