Start your day off battling whitewater rapids in the beautiful state of Colorado, then take a short break and spend your afternoon among the treetops on one of two Via Ferrata courses. This combination will challenge you and we guarantee you’ll be smiling ear to ear by the end of your day.
Locations:
- Head to Idaho Springs just 30 minutes west of Denver to try out the Iron Way: Colorado Via Ferrata along the cliffside above the historic mining town. Clear Creek runs through the area with levels of whitewater from beginner to advanced for the rafting portion of your trip.
- Buena Vista is an hour south of Summit County and you’ll get to enjoy the Rocky Mountain Via Ferrata and paddle through Arkansas River rapids, ranging from the incredibly beautiful Browns Canyon to intense Class V rapids of Pine Creek.

Located just 30 minutes west of Denver awaits a day of adventure for you in the mountains. You’ll start off on Class V rapids of Clear Creek, with an impressive 150 foot/mile gradient stretch of whitewater. After about an hour and a half on the water, you’ll take a quick break back at the outpost to grab a bite to eat and take refuel before heading up the cliffside. The Via Ferrata course will have you traversing above the town of Idaho Springs via iron rungs, rappelling down a 70-foot rock face, trying out a thrilling 50-foot freefall, then ziplining back down the the Idaho Springs outpost.
Upper Clear Creek 1/2 Day + Via Ferrata

Paddle through the continuous, steep stretch of whitewater on Upper Clear Creak to start your day off. You’ll take a much-needed lunch break and breather at our outpost’s beautiful deck along Chicago Creek after, where you can bring a picnic or grab a bite to eat downtown Idaho Springs. After you refuel, you’ll gear up for the Via Ferrata tour which will introduce you to mountaineering and give you an incredible view of the Continental Divide for your afternoon.
