The Dolores River is one of the Southwest’s best-kept secrets, offering a unique combination of solitude, scenery, wildlife, and ancient history.

Breckenridge Whitewater Rafting trips on the Dolores River begin in the San Juan Mountains which are 202 miles southwest of Breckenridge. The drive to the San Juan Mountains is quite beautiful. The Collegiate Peaks, Arkansas River and the Curecanti National Recreation Area are just a few of the awesome things you will see on your drive from Breckenridge! You will get to the San Juan Mountains via HWY 285 S, US-50 W and CO-149 S.

This operation is conducted on public lands under special recreation permit with the Bureau of Land Management Tres Rios Field Office.

Dolores River Rafting 3 Day

Start your excursion at the base of the 14,000-foot San Juan Mountains, and float through pink Navajo and red Wingate sandstone walls as the Dolores carries you into the canyon. Take in Anasazi ruins and petroglyphs, an abundance of wildlife, and spectacular scenery as you take on fun Class II-IV whitewater.

Dolores River Rafting 6 Day

Follow the course of the 3-Day trip, then continue the journey through Slickrock Canyon, where the walls around you reach 1200 feet into the desert sky. The Class II-IV white water, side canyon hikes and abundant relaxation help you forget about “real life.”
