Breckenridge is the perfect place to celebrate America’s independence with an abundance of activities and fun for the whole family! Start the day off at 7AM with our Breckenridge Independence 10k trail run, taking place at Carter Park in Breckenridge. After the run, stroll down to Main Street and check out the Firecracker 50. The Firecracker 50 is the annual bike race that kicks off the Fourth of July parade on Main Street. With over 800 participants, this bike race is sure to amaze. Following the bikers is the long awaited parade. Floats, sparklers, and costumes are just some of the sights you will see at this wacky parade taking place right in the heart of downtown Breckenridge.
The activities don’t stop when the parade ends. Head over to the gondola located at the north end of town and enjoy a FREE ride to the base of Peak 8. Peak 8 is home to Breckenridge’s popular fun park. Enjoy a ride on the Gold Runner Coaster or Alpine Slide, take a scenic chairlift ride on the Colorado Super chair, climb the artificial rock wall or take a leap on the bungee jump. The fun park is home to multiple activities for all ages.
At the end the night, the National Repertory Orchestra will be performing a patriotic concert at the Riverwalk Center right in the heart of town. Get out of the city heat and take a trip to the majestic mountains on July 4th, definitely a decision you won’t regret!
