Many parents send their children outside so they can take time to themselves to get things done without distraction. What some parents don’t realize is this outside time is benefiting not only themselves, but their children as well. There are several reasons kids need to get outdoors. Here are four reason kids need to get outdoors!

Builds up the Immune System: Children who are exposed to the natural bacteria, pests and dirt of the outdoors are less likely to develop autoimmune disorders or even allergies. This is because the immune system builds itself up from a young age and exposure to these elements allows it to slowly become stronger. It turns out letting your child play in the dirt can actually be a good thing.
Provides Vitamin D: Vitamin D helps to support energy levels, improve memory, and promote better moods. The easiest way to get a daily dosage of Vitamin D is through 10-15 minutes of daily sun exposure. This makes for a great excuse to get the kids moving outdoors.
Stimulates the Imagination: In today’s technological age it’s easy to get lost in the always available TV, internet, and video games. There is no imagination required for their usage. Going to play outside, however, requires children to make up games and activities and allows them to utilize and stimulate their imaginations.
