While visiting Colorado over the summer there seems to be an endless number places to see and things to do. While the options may be overwhelming you should have plenty of time to accomplish all of the activities you like as long as you plan ahead. Whitewater rafting is a very popular summer activity but if you cannot devote a full day or half day to the activity you may think you are out of luck. Luckily, AVA offers the ultimate 1/3 day trip on the iconic Blue River just about 20 miles outside of Breckenridge!
While Breckenridge seems to be the central hub of all outdoor activities in Colorado over the summer, most trail and activities will require a short drive to meeting point. The Blue River Express is no different as it will require about 20-30 minutes of driving to reach the section of whitewater. The trip itself is only about a three hour time commitment and is just over two miles in length. On this trip you will experience Class III whitewater with stunning views of the Gore and Ten Mile Mountain ranges. While class III may sound intimidating to some this trip will be appropriate for ages seven and up and may even drop down to as young as five depending on the water levels during the time of your trip.
If you are looking for something more intense or longer in length don’t worry as we are able to offer trips ranging from Class I to V (float trips to advanced trips) with lengths ranging from ½ day to 3 days all within an hour and a half of Breckenridge. Our three main outposts are our Granite, Idaho Springs and Kremmling locations with each of the three offering unique experiences.
