Breckenridge’s Summer Beer Festival 2018 is THIS WEEKEND!

It’s the best time of the year in the Colorado Rockies, and with all the events and activities to take part in over the next few weeks you’re in for a treat if you’re headed to the high country.  Breckenridge’s Main Street is already packed to the brim this week for 4th of July festivities, but one of our favorite events in town takes place this weekend: the Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival.  Here’s what you can expect if you’re heading to the area for some craft brews and great music.

When is the event?

The Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival is this Saturday, July 7th.

Where is the event?

It’s located at a new spot this year, so head higher up Beaver Run to the Copper Top Plaza area for a great time.

How many breweries are attending?

There will be over 40 breweries showing off their products this year.  If you buy tickets in advance, the first hour of the event is set aside for taste testing before all other general admission attendees arrive.  You may strongly consider this due to the amount of great participants in the event.

Can kids come to the beer festival?

Your kids can absolutely attend with you, just no strong beverages for them.  Keep in mind that the event gets crowded as well.

What else can I expect at the event?

The day is jam-packed with fun, including live music and delicious food.  Enjoy some karaoke or one of the three bands that will be showing off their skills on stage.  There will also be a plethora of food vendors on site so you’ll have your pick of what grub you want to grab throughout the afternoon.

What other activities can I do while in Breckenridge?

Good question, and Breckenridge Whitewater Rafting has all of the answers.  The rafting season on the Blue River is over, but if you’re willing to get just an hour out of town you open the door for a lot of options.  Our Buena Vista outpost is just an hour south of Summit County and still has some incredible rapids on the Arkansas River as well as a multitude of other activities including ziplining, Via Ferrata, rock climbing, and more.  Head east toward the Denver area and stop at our Idaho Springs outpost for a couple aerial adventures or all levels of whitewater on Clear Creek.  If you want to make a weekend out of it, the Colorado River runs along our Kremming location and has some great overnight trips that are family friendly, along with horseback riding and fly fishing as well.
