Come help the town of Breckenridge celebrate 53 years of Ullr Fest! From January 13th to January 16th, the town will come together in the spirit of Ullr, the Nordic God of Snow and Winter. Ullr loves a good party – it has been said he was a great skier with a passion for fresh powder and beer. Ullr Fest commences on January 13th with the Breck Ascent Series beginning promptly at 6:15 am, followed by the Crowning of the Ullr King and Queen at 6:30 pm. The final event of the night will be the Talent Show located at the Riverwalk Center. Doors for the show will open at 6:00 pm and the show will begin at 6:30 pm.
Thursday, January 14th will begin with the Fat Bike Eliminator at 2:30 pm on Main Street and the annual Ullr Shot Ski at 4:15pm. The Breckenridge Distillery will provide the world’s longest shot ski, spanning approximately 1,250 feet. Registration will begin at noon at $5 a person – participants must be 21 years or older to enter. The legendary Ullr Parade starts at 4:30 pm on Main Street. The bonfire will follow the parade in the South Gondola Parking Lot. Please bring your Christmas trees or old skis and take in some of the Ullr spirit with the locals.
Friday the 15th will be kicked off with a hangover breakfast (10am-12pm) provided by local eateries Poached and Quandry Grill. Following the breakfast there will be the yearly Ullr Ice Plunge at Maggie Pond. Come take a plunge into the frozen waters and enjoy a free hot lunch from the Quandary Grill following your swim.
Ullr Fest will conclude with a comedy show featuring comedian Aaron Urist at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center. Admission is $25 per person or $225 for a group of 10 people. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Breckenridge Welcome Center and the Carriage House.
